District Band Scale Audition Materials

 

Sets 1, 2, 3, 4

 

These scale cut downs are taken from the All State Band Audition list.  If you go on to state, you will be required to know all scales.  The set numbers on this page correspond with the sets on All State tryouts (if you are doing Set 1 on etudes, do set 1 on scales, etc).  The scale cuts are designed so that by your Junior year, you have prepared all scales.  Keep the following items in mind:

 

·        All scales are to be memorized.  Check the All State list for how many octaves are required.

·        Scales listed are written note, not concert.

·        Prepare all scales slurred and tongued in sixteenth notes at quarter note=88.
