Participation and Entry Form
***** ENTRY FORM DEADLINE IS DECEMBER 14, 2007****
Schools may bring 3 students for every 50 fifth and sixth grader per district. A maximum of 20 students per district is allowed and a minimum of 4 is acceptable (If you school is too small to bring 4 by this rule, bring 4 anyway!). Please select 5th and 6th graders only for this choir. **This is a change from last year when we figured per school rather than per district. We hope this will be a more equitable formula.)**
Example: 156 5th graders in district
+ 163 6th graders in district
319 total students
319 divided by 50 = 6.38
6.38X 3 = 19.14 (round to 19) singers allowed from this district. PLEASE NO PARTIAL STUDENTS IT GETS REALLY MESSY!
Please dont fudge on your numbers we are in a new venue this year and not sure just how many kids we can get on the stage. I know its hard to make the cut, but please 1 extra from each school will add almost 100 students to our stage.
Music can be ordered from JW Pepper at 1-800-258-9566, fax 800-382-8250 or American Music at 1-800-369-2624, fax 816-415-8996 by asking for the 2008 South Central Missouri 5th & 6th grade packet.
Rehearsal CDs will be ready to mail by November 1, 2007. Please indicate on your registration if you would like one they are $5.00 and can be paid for on the day of the concert. Shhhh Productions will be recording our concert and CDs will be orderable the day of the concert.
Registration will begin at 8:00 and continue till we are done Fees are $7.00 per student and $5.00 for rehearsal CD. These will need to be paid the day of the concert by check or school PO (check or cash preferred). Please pay for all singers and CDs on one check made payable to SCMMEA.
MUSIC: Music must be memorized completely again this year. Dr. McClellan is very excited to work with our group we have a high reputation for preparedness and she is looking forward to working musicality, not pounding notes. (9/10 honor choir is following our lead with rehearsal CDs so that they can be better prepared for their concert in November!) Make sure any music you bring this day is marked with your school name so I can return it to you if lost.

ATTIRE
Student should wear comfortable but school worthy clothes during the day. Monitor the writing on T-shirts please. (Remember we are in a church.) Please have them bring dress clothes for the concert. Remind the girls that they may be sitting so keep the skirts of a good length. High heeled shoes are NOT a good idea.
Also, please remember to invite your administrators and teachers as well as family and friends to the concert. This is a big day for your students.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at home 417-732-8154, school, 417-935-2234 or email me rmnovak@hotmail.com.
